Christopher Nolan’s brilliant, expansive film about the life, work and disturbing legacy of a complicated, haunted man was one of the most intense cinema experiences I’ve had in a while. It may not be completely free of Nolan’s worst traits, but it also feels like the mature, contemplative film he’s been building towards throughout his entire career.
Batman Begins – Film Review
Yeah I was one of the many people who went to see The Dark Knight at the cinema without ever watching Christopher Nolan’s first installment in his dark and gritty Batman trilogy. Almost thirteen years later is still better than never I guess.
Dunkirk – Film Review
It takes something special to lure me into a cinema to watch a modern war movie, and the involvement of Christopher Nolan definitely piqued my interest, even though I thought that The Dark Knight Rises was a bloated misfire and Interstellar was deeply flawed. Thankfully, Dunkirk is a lean mean machine that dispenses with stilted dialogue about love, and in fact relies very little on the dialogue.
