The Red Planet was one of the first things that popped into my head in response to this week’s topic from That Artsy Reader Girl, Books Set In X. It surely must be the most-visited planet in the Solar System in fiction.

1. The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury

2. The Martian by Andy Weir

3. Red Rising by Pierce Brown

4. Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson

5. A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs

6. Before Mars by Emma Newman

7. Curiosity: The Story of a Mars Rover by Markus Motum

8. Red Planet by Robert A. Heinlein

9. Girlfriend on Mars by Deborah Willis

10. Aelita by Alexei Tolstoy

I haven’t read any of these books, but I did read Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.

Ah, Mars is an excellent choice! And I know someone who would be thrilled by that book about Curiosity… 👀 I love that Emma Newman series, too; I haven’t read all of them, but I find them coming back to mind every so often. Great list!
Here’s mine! I went with a time period… kind of. I twisted the prompt to something I’d find easy/interesting to answer, haha.

Fun topic! I’m not much of a sci-fi/fantasy reader, so I haven’t read any of these. I do love a middle-grade book called THE LION OF MARS by Jennifer L. Holm. It’s excellent.
Happy TTT!

I have a special love for The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. Two years back, my sophomore class didn’t want to read ANYTHING so I was digging through some of the old books from previous teachers. I found The Martian Chronicles and decided on a whim to go for it. They are seniors now and they STILL talk about this book!
